VIDEO: Corner Flip Card Tutorial + 3 Sprinkles of Life Card

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Stampin' Up! Sprinkles of Life Corner Flip Card #stampinup #video www.juliedavison.com
I have been seeing Corner Flip Cards all over Pinterest and finally gave it a try this month. They are so very easy! Just a couple quick cuts and then you flip the corner. I had so much fun making them, that I couldn't stop! I made three variations using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. This stamp set is so versatile and cute! And to top it off, Stampin' Up! will donate $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities for every stamp set purchased!

This cupcake Corner Flip Card is the last in my series of three cards for my Sprinkles of Life card kit that I am sending to my of Stamp of the Month Club members.

August Paper Pumpkin Chalk It Up To Love: Two Alternative Card Ideas

The August Paper Pumpkin is glitzy and glam! The Chalk It Up to Love kit includes everything to create six note cards and three gift boxes, a cute stamp set, and a Whisper White Craft Ink Spot. I love the challenge of taking the pieces and creating different designs. A took a little time last weekend to get creative. Here are two of the cards that I created. The cards in the kit are 3-1/2" x 5" note cards, but I used the pieces and created standard cards that are 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".

Most of the supplies came from the Paper Pumpkin kit. I added the card bases (Very Vanilla and Basic Black), Metallic Foil Doilies, Petite Petals Punch, Metal Rimmed Pearls, and a black ink pad.

On the second card, I cut the "with love" stamp in half so that I could stack the words. With Photopolymer stamps, it is easy to cut and use them apart or put them back together on the clear block.

Check out this video from Paper Pumpkin to see the original projects and watch to see how fun and simple this kit is to put together.

Stamp of the Month Club Reveal: Sprinkles of Life Tree Card

The kids are back at school and I'm already feeling productive with my quiet hours at home! I'm trying to get caught up after all of our traveling this summer. One of the things I accomplished was finalizing the designs for the August Stamp of the Month Club

I'm excited to be featuring the Sprinkles of Life stamp set from the Annual Catalog. This versatile stamp set was designed for Stampin' Up!'s Making a Difference campaign. For every stamp set purchased, Stampin' Up! will donate $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Learn More.

There are so many ways to use the images in the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. You can use images from this 22 piece photopolymer stamp set to create cupcakes, ice cream cones, trees, clouds, baskets of flowers and more! Here's the first card of the three I designed for the club this month.

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks: Control Freaks Blog Tour

Are you ready for some sneak peeks!? I'm so excited to participate in this month's Control Freaks Blog tour because we are showcasing projects featuring the 2015 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog products! Whether you came from Judy DiScipio's blog or you are just joining the fun, you're in for a treat! Make sure to hop all the through the tour to check out what we've created with all the great new products that will be available in a couple weeks! (The 2015 Holiday Catalog starts September 1, 2015.)

I have heard from many of you that the Holiday Catalog is starting to arrive in the mail. If you are a customer of mine who has ordered in the last year or two, you should receive a copy in the mail! If you are not already shopping with another demonstrator and would like to receive a copy of the catalog, please contact me!

It seems a little early still to be working on Christmas (it IS only August!), so I thought I'd share some Halloween cards with you this time. I usually don't buy Halloween stamp sets since it is such a short season, but I couldn't resist playing with some of my mom's pre-order stamps when I was there earlier this month. I wasn't sure what to do with all the bottles of poison in this stamp set, but I'm pleased with the way the card turned out.

To get the whispy white threads, I pulled apart the Whisper White Baker's Twine and added it behind the tag.

The Among the Branches stamp set is more my speed. I love that it includes stamps that can be used for multiple seasons and holidays. And it is available as a bundle with the Woodland Embossing Folder. (Yay for saving money!)  I adore the Woodland embossing folder! The trees can be serene for Christmas or spooky for Halloween. I embossed on Smoky Slate cardstock and then used a Sponge Dauber to add some ink over the trees to highlight them and make them stand out a little more.

I used the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch to create the starburst shape under the "Spooky" stamp. I love this simple trick. Here's how:
  1. Punch a Scallop Circle.
  2. Use removable adhesive or just a small bit of adhesive to adhere the scallop circle punch to a piece of scrap paper. (Or use a sticky note!)
  3. Line up the scallops so the point falls in the middle of each scallop.
  4. Punch again and remove from scrap paper.

That's all I have for you today! Be sure to come back and visit me again for more sneak peeks from the new Holiday Catalog! For now, it's time to continue on with the tour and head over to see what awesomeness Patty Bennett has in store for you!

Back to School Teacher Gift: Embossed Gift Bag

Last night was "Meet the Teacher" night for the girls' school, so we packed up all their school supplies and searched out their new classrooms. We've had fun this summer, but I am beyond ready for school to start on Wednesday! I have so much to catch up on and lots of goodies to share with all of you, so hold tight!

We make an effort to spoil our teachers with goodies all year round and I wanted to start off with a special treat for our new teachers. I whipped up this quick packaging before we headed over to the school. I love, love, love the Cheryl's buttercream cookies and this month's cookie club package included apple shaped cookies! I packaged each cookie in a Tag a Bag Gift Bag which I ran through the Big Shot with an embossing folder. I stapled the banners on and covered it with the Just for You tag. Easy peasy! (Oh, be sure to emboss the bag BEFORE you put the cookie in!)

TUTORIAL: Thanks A Latte Paper Pumpkin Tea Bag Holder Card

One of my favorite things about Paper Pumpkin is the exclusive stamp set that comes in each kit. I love the July 2015 Thanks a Latte stamp set because it includes a tea cup, an image I don't have in my stamp collection. It reminded of the tea bag holder I created with the Morning Cup stamp set (which I borrowed from a friend) that I made a few years ago. Check out the original project here. Here's my version using supplies from the July 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit.

Stampin' Up! Convention, Day 3: On Stage Demos + CentreStage

I just realized I never posted highlights from the last day of Convention! It was a short day. Only one class and then the closing General Session. Rich Jutkins, the President of Stampin' Up!, gave a "State of Stampin' Up!" address. It was exciting to hear that sales are up in all markets! As a company, Stampin' Up! is as healthy and strong as ever!

One of my favorite parts of Convention is the on stage demonstrations and this year was no exception. Here are some of my favorite projects that Shannon West shared during the last General Session.

I love these little 3" x 3" cards that Shannon shared using the "A Little Something" stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.
Stampin' Up! A Little Something Notecards from Convention 2015 #stampinup www.juliedavison.com
And then a cute little box to put them in. This box was created with the new Square Pillow Box Thinlit that will be released in the Holiday Catalog new month. Even better -- you can get the stamp set to make the cards and the thinlit together in a bundle and save 15%! There are LOTS of new bundles in the Holiday Catalog!
Stampin' Up! Square Pillow Box shared at Convention 2015 #stampinup www.juliedavison.com
I love watching Stampin' Up! staff demo on stage, but even more, I love watching my fellow demonstrators share ideas and tips! This year's Demonstrator Theater was awesome! Here are some of my favorite projects created by Lyssa Zwolanek and Alison Okamitsu.

Lyssa colored and stamped on the Timeless Elegance Designer Paper.
I loved this tip that Lyssa shared. She punched out various scallop circles and then embossed them with the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder (#133737).
I absolutely adore this wreath that Allison created with the Vintage Leaves Bundle (stamp set and coordinating framelits)! Gorgeous!
The very last part of Convention was CentreStage -- an event exclusively for leaders performing at the title of Manager or above. We had the opportunity to re-group, identify things we learned and create an action plan for incorporating them into our business both personally and with our downline. The best part was the keynote speaker, Jenna Glover.

Jenna talked about living an energy-efficient life. Her message really hit home with me! I have been neglecting some of my basic needs (SLEEP!) to take care of growth needs. As we get into our "normal" schedule this fall with the kids returning to school (in one week!), I hope to find a better balance in my life and make sure all those basic needs are being met. You can watch Jenna Glover's talk here.

Mom and I snapped a quick pic with Sara Douglass at the end of the event. Sara is doing an amazing job as Interim CEO!
It is always sad to pack up go home after Convention. I had so much fun spending time with my stamping friends. I am looking forward to the next Stampin' Up! Event -- the OnStage Local event in November to launch the Occasions Catalog. I'll be attending the Milwaukee event. Join my team and you can attend this demonstrator-only event too! OnStage Local will be held in 6 cities across the country, so even if you don't live near me, you can attend this event and experience a Stampin' Event in person!
