Sending Love Tri-Fold Valentine

Does this card layout have a name? I want to call it a Z-fold, but I think that refers to a much more complicated card that has more folds and cuts than this. However, this definitely looks like a Z when it's folded out. Let's just call it a Simple Z Fold Card. {edited: Someone helped my poor preggo brain! It's a tri-fold card. Duh!}

I scored my 4-1/4" x 11" cardstock at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2". Basically, it's scored in half, and then the front half is scored in half. Then fold it like a Z! I embellished with Sending Love Designer Series Paper (#117153, $11.95). I love this glittery paper! It's so perfect for Valentine's Day, but many of the designs aren't so heart-filled that you can use it for more than just valentines.

Supplies: Whimsical Words (SAB), Real Red ink & cardstock, Pretty in Pink cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Sending Love Designer Series Paper, Full Heart Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Bold Brights Brads, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, Stampin' Dimensionals

CAS CASE

Hee hee. Acronyms. I CASEd (Copy And Steal Everything -- or -- Copy And Selectively Edit) this card from a CAS (Clean And Simple) card that Phoenix Regional attendees made earlier this month. The original design was square, but I took the same elements and put it on a regular card. Which do you like better: the horizontal or vertical style?

Oh! I just realized you can't see the glitter very well in these photos. I put spot glitter on parts of the flowers and on the cake candles and flower centers. It sparkles nicely in real life.

Supplies: Happy Moments (SAB), Jet Black Staz-On ink, Regal Rose marker & cardstock, Certainly Celery marker & cardstock, Apricot Appeal marker & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Scallop Edge Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 2-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

Friends Leadership Scrapbook Page

Here's another make and take from Leadership Conference. It's an 8-1/2" x 8-1/2" scrapbook page using the With All Your Heart stamp set. I added some black and white photos from my trip to Phoenix. I didn't post any of the photos here on my blog because I think I like like a cow! Ok, I know I'm pregnant, but I was swollen and bloated in Arizona. I could hardly get my shoes on for the conference and ended up wearing sandals!

The journaling block says: "Phoenix in January with Friends ~ I Love What I Do! Leadership 2010". Despite all that swelling, I did have a blast and thoroughly enjoyed my "girl time" with my friends! I'd love to have you join us at the next Stampin' Up! Event! Convention this July will bring us back to Salt Lake City. Click here for more information about joining my team and starting your own business.

Supplies: With All My Heart, A to Z, Pretty ink Pink cardstock, Confetti White cardstock, Melon Mambo ink/marker & cardstock, Soft Suede ink/marker & cardstock, Old Olive Patterns Designer Series Paper, Fancy Flower Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Sherbet Designer Buttons, Pink Corduroy Buttons, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots

If Words Had Wings...

One of my very first stamps was a little saying that said: "If my words had wings, they would fly to you each day." I just love that sentiment! I had a little butterfly to go with it.

The sentiment on this card is similar, though I used the new Sale-a-bration stamp set Whimsical Words instead. "You're Never More Than a Thought Away".

This darling butterfly card is one of three in my new Whimsical Wings Card Kit. The kit includes cardstock for 2 each of 3 designs PLUS two brand new stamps! If you don't want the stamps, you can get the "cards only" kit with just the cardstock for only $12.95. Click here for all the details.

Supplies: Butterfly Accent; Dot, Dot, Dot; Whimsical Words (SAB); So Saffron cardstock, Orchid Opulence ink & cardstock, Pretty in Pink ink & cardstock, Certainly Celery ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Beautiful Wings Embosslit (Big Shot), Silver Brads, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer

Have an Ice Day Card

Stacey's latest Curtain Call Color Challenge reminded of cold and snow, so I finally broke out my Animal Crackers stamp set and made this icy little card.

I used a strip of Tea Party Designer Series Paper and stamped a snowflake in the middle of each circle to make it a little more wintry. Here's a close-up of the penguin so you can see the glitter and Crystal Effects I used on the melting ice.

I used the Scallop Square Punch and layered four squares behind the penguin to get the tiny scalloped border. Slide the belly band off to open this gate fold card and you'll see I stamped a little on the inside too!

Supplies: Animal Crackers, Holiday Blitz (snowflake), Jet Black Staz-On ink, Almost Amethyst ink & cardstock, Orchid Opulence marker & cardstock, Bashful Blue marker & cardstock, Tea Party DSP, 2-Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Crystal Effects, Scallop Square Punch

"I Like You" Card

I used to always joke with my husband and tell him how much I "liked" him. He'd say "I love you" and I would say, "yeah, I like you too." Hee hee. The truth is I couldn't do what I do if it wasn't for my sweetie pie. I love him dearly and couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else. And I do tell him THAT very often!

Here's my first "Love Bandit" card. We got this set at Manager's Reception at Leadership and to be honest, I wasn't that excited about it. I've seen some cute things, so I need to keep at it, I'm just not very happy with my first attempt. Something just seems "off" about it. If I liked it more, I might consider it for Jim's valentine, but I think I need to try again.

Supplies: Love Bandit, Old Olive marker & cardstock, Chocolate Chip marker & cardstock, Real Red marker, Whipser White cardstock, Sending Love DSP, Scallop Edge Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Eggcellent Eggs Notecard

Yesterday, I posted the monogram charm insert I created using some pieces from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit. (I used a rub-on and a rhinestone.) Today's post is a little notecard using the die-cut flowers and border (originally meant to be an egg stand!). There are so many pieces in this little kit; you can do so much with it! And it's not just for eggs!

Supplies: Whimsical Words (SAB), Pretty in Pink ink, Whisper White Notecards & Envelopes, Eggcellent Eggs Kit, Stampin' Dimensionals

Simply Adorned Monogram Charm Insert

I'm so excited that the new Simply Adorned Jewelry line is now available! You can order the necklace charms (except the largest one) and chain and the bracelet charms and chain in my Online Store. Click here for more information about the Simply Adorned product line. Earlier this week, I created my first charm insert for my 1" x 1-1/4" necklace.

Here's a close-up of the charm:

I didn't take a picture of the back, but there is a window there too, so I put in a full piece of the same striped DSP that I used on the front. I love the way it turned out! And how fun that you can change out the inserts to match the occasion, mood, or clothes you're wearing! I used the Tiny Tags stamp set for the background image and embellished with rub-ons and self-adhesive rhinestone from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit (#117179, $9,95; it's not just for eggs!!). I choose the bright colors for this design from the little piece of DSP I used from the Sale-a-bration Good Neighbor pack.

Supplies: Tiny Tags, Just Perfect Alphabet, Rose Red ink & cardstock, Pumpkin Pie cardstock, Old Olive ink, Whisper White cardstock, Eggcellent Eggs Kit, Good Neighbor DSP (SAB), Trio Flower Punch, 1/4" Circle Punch, Simply Adorned 1" x 1-4/" Rectangle Charm, Simply Adorned 24" Chain

Bold Flower Thank You Card

This weekend I caught up on some birthday and thank you cards that were overdue. I usedStacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 13 as inspiration for the colors in this card:

I used the With All My Heart stamp set and coordinating Fancy Flower punch. I LOVE it when stamps and punches go together!! This was a fun color combination. I think the black really made the pink and orange pop and gave it more power. Since the card base was black, I added a stamped Top Note on the inside to write on.

Supplies: With All My Heart, Pumpkin Pie ink & cardstock, Pink Passion ink & cardstock, Basic Black ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Fancy Flower Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Top Note die for the Big Shot, Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain, Stampin' Dimensionals

More Butterfly Kisses

Here's another card that I made using the "kissing" technique with the Butterfly Accent and Dot, Dot, Dot stamps. (Click here to see the other kissed butterfly card.) I designed this card for my Whimsical Wings Card Kit. (Click here for details on purchasing this card kit.) I think this might be my favorite of the three cards.

The finished card size is 4-1/4" x 4-1/4". It will fit in a regular medium envelope to mail without additional postage. I used the Circle Scissor Plus to make the circle and the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp again to make the dotted background on the left. The small orchid colored butterfly is from the Beautiful Wings embosslit. It cuts and embosses a bunch of butterflies at once. Love it!

Supplies: Butterfly Accent; Dot, Dot, Dot; Whimsical Words (SAB); So Saffron ink & cardstock, Orchid Opulence ink & cardstock, Pretty in Pink cardstock, Certainly Celery cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Circle Scissor Plus, Beautiful Wings Embosslit (Big Shot), Silver Brads, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer

Sweet Pea 3x3

I made this sweet little 3x3 card to give to my newest downline, Aliesha, along with her gift: a package of then Sweet Pea Stitched Felt and coordinating Sweet Pea Designer Paper. I used the colors from Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 12 as inspiration for this project.

Although you can't mail 3x3 cards, they are the perfect size to tuck inside a gift, put inside your child's lunch bag, hide in your honey's dresser, or leave on your co-worker's desk.

Leadership M&T: Thank You Card

I fell asleep on the couch last night instead of posting this. And darn it! I missed the last 55 minutes of Project Runway too! (Yes, that means I only caught the first 5 minutes!) That's what I get for staying up late the rest of the week!

Here's one of the make and takes we made at Leadership Conference. They were all so cute! The stamp set we got was With All Your Heart, but the only one we used on this card was the greeting "Thank You". The other stamps are from the "a la carte" (AKA "Under $10") pages in the Occasions Mini Catalog: A to Z and Dot, Dot, Dot. These stamps are so versatile and will make "accessory" stamp sets because they coordinate with many styles and lots of other stamp sets.

Supplies: With All My Heart; A to Z; Dot, Dot, Dot; Pretty in Pink ink & cardstock, Soft Suede ink/marker & cardstock, Melon Mambo cardstock, Old Olive cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Bashful Blue Patterns DSP, Fancy Flower Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, Sherbet Designer Buttons, 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Glue Dots

I used two of the "$10 and Under" stamps from the Occasions Mini for this card: Butterfly Accent and Dot, Dot, Dot. I kissed the red-inked dots to the pink-inked butterfly to transfer the colored pattern.

I'm putting the finishing touches on my next Project Kit featuring both of these stamps. Watch for more details soon!

The finished card size is 3" x 6".

Remembering Grandma Scrapbook Pages

A year ago today I was working on a different scrapbook page layout of my mother-in-law as a way to cope with the news of her passing. One year later, I am finding comfort in the same activity and trying to focus on happy memories instead of all of the things we wish she was here for. Here is the 8-1/2" x 8-1/2" layout I made for her book today.

I couldn't decide what to do for a title, so I left it off completely. I like the extra space on the first page and how it brings the focus to the photo. Journaling: Grandma & Claire take a break to post for a picture. There's nothing Grandma loves more than chasing the kids and watching them play in the background.

I didn't use any stamps on this layout! The images are cut from the larger pattern in the Pink Flamingo Designer Series paper. I love the fun colors in this pack!

Supplies: Pink Flamingo DSP, Real Red marker & cardstock, Pretty in Pink cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Tempting Turquoises cardstock, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, marker

Altered Candy Tin

Last weekend, I went shopping and checked out the Christmas Clearance section. I honestly didn't expect to find much of anything left, but surprisingly there are quite a bit. It was mostly candy and food items and it was all 75% off. It's only the packaging that's Christmas-y, so I scooped up some brownie and cookie mixes and a few tins of candy. I loved this one. The only thing I had to cover up was the square label on the lid of the tin. So easy! Here's what it looked like before:

And after:I used the Full Heart Punch to make the petals of the flower (bottom points in the center). The center brad is one of the new Real Red Epoxy Brads from the Occasions Mini Catalog. And of course the glittery Sending Love DSP. You can order all the Occasions Mini Catalog products in my Online Store. Click here to go straight there!

Supplies: With All My Heart, Real Red ink & cardstock, Pretty in Pink cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Sending Love DSP, 1-1/4" & 1-3/8" Circle Punches, Scallop Circle Punch, Full Heart Punch, Real Red Epoxy Brads, Real Red Satin Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Easter Mini Milk Carton Box

I love this new Mini Milk Carton Big Shot die (#117310, $32.95) from the Occasions Mini Catalog! It's a bit small, but sooooo darling! It's perfect for a little treat. I decorated this one with the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (are you sick of that paper yet?!) and the Eggcoutrements stamp set. I used the Tiny Tags set for the little tag, which coordinates with the Medium Jewelry Tag Punch (#117190, $10.95) -- love it!! (Note: I cut off the very bottom edge of it).

Valentine Petal Card Treat

Last night I enjoyed shoebox-swapping (is that a word?!) with my downline and demonstrator friends in Springfield. We had lots of fun and I loved every single project! Everyone used a new stamp set from the Occasions or Sale-a-bration minis and I enjoyed seeing how the same things were used in different ways on different projects. Here's the project I brought: a Valentine petal card treat.

This is just like the snowflake one I posted last month. I used the Petal Card die and folded up the bottom and sides to make a pocket for the candy. So easy! I brought some extras along to swap here at Leadership.

The greeting comes from the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Whimsical Words. Did you see that the Sale-a-bration stamp sets are available in clear mount AND wood mount?! So you can choose your preferred style when you place your $50 order. Click here to view the Sale-a-bration brochure now.

I've been stamping up a storm the last couple days and just finished photographing 10 new projects to share with you over the next week or so ~ lots of new stuff using the Sale-a-bration and Occasions Mini catalog products! But before we get to that, a quick break from the sneak peeks so I can show you the card I made for Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge. I love doing these challenges and stretching creatively to use all of the colors and no others.
